Project Description
KDOT and the City of Topeka are collaborating on a reconstruction and pavement replacement project on U.S. 24. The project begins near N. Kansas Avenue in Topeka and extends to Muddy Creek in Jefferson County. Work began in July 2023 and is expected to be complete in 2027, conditions permitting.
The major urban intersections in the project area include:
- U.S. 24 and N. Kansas Avenue (signalized intersection)
- U.S. 24 and N.E. Meriden Road (two offset intersections)
- U.S. 24 and N.E. Goldwater Road
The overall project area is 5.5 miles. Benefits of this improvement project include:
