KDOT employs a qualifications-based selection (QBS) process to engage the most highly qualified consultants. This process is designed to identify firms with demonstrated competence and experience in providing engineering and other technical services.

Key Resources and Information

• Contracts and Payment Requests: Find information on the contract development and negotiation process for professional services as well as information on submitting invoices.  
• Design Resources: Access policies and manuals for professionals providing services to KDOT as well as information on CADD support resources.  
• Prequalification: Before being selected for any KDOT project, consultants must be prequalified in specific categories. This involves submitting the KDOT 1050 Form and other required documentation. Prequalification allows KDOT to verify all consultants meet our standards for quality and reliability.  
• Solicitations and RFPs: KDOT uses Bid Express® for all request for proposal (RFP) solicitations. Consultants can sign up for a free vendor account to receive notifications about new RFPs and updates. This platform streamlines the process, making it easier for consultants to stay informed and participate in our projects.
