The Office of Civil Rights Compliance at KDOT monitors adherence to state and federal nondiscrimination programs. These include the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Workforce Development Programs, and Title VI compliance.  

Nondiscrimination Policy (26.7) 

KDOT and its contractors are committed to nondiscrimination in all federal aid contracts and DBE program administration. This means no discrimination based on race, color, national origin, or sex. Contractors are informed through state contract specifications that failure to comply with these requirements is a breach of contract and may result in termination or other appropriate remedies. All employees and agents must adhere to the provisions of 49 CFR Part 26. 

Title VI Notice to Public

KDOT operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by any unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with KDOT.

A complainant may file a complaint directly with the U.S. Department of Transportation by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights, Attention: Title VI Program Coordinator, East Building, 5th Floor-TCR, 1200 New Jersey Ave., SE, Washington, DC 20590.
