Project Description

KDOT has developed a corridor management plan for K-254 in Sedgwick and Butler counties. The area includes 22 miles of K-254 from Wichita on the west to El Dorado on the east (and within 1 mile of the highway).

The goal of the K-254 Corridor Management Plan is to set forth an overall land-use and access management strategy and identify various transportation improvements to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently as development occurs. The planning process began in the summer of 2023 and continued through 2024.

Below is a short video of Kelly Herzet, K-254 Corridor Development Associate Chair, speaking about the K-254 Corridor.
