A field survey for proposed replacement of a U.S. 183 bridge in Rush Center is set to start around Jan. 25.
The proposed improvement is on U.S.183 over Walnut Creek drainage just north of Cherry Street in Rush Center.
The approximate length of the survey is 2,000 feet, and the survey is based on existing alignment.
The survey, which will gather information for detailed design of the proposed improvement, is estimated to be finished by April 1.
A member of the survey crew first will contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property. Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.
Jim Nider, P.S., Survey Project Manager, SMH, will be in charge of the survey for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
