K-32 pavement project begins tomorrow in Wyandotte County

Post Date:08/08/2022

Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) pavement improvement work is scheduled to begin on eastbound and westbound K-32, from Kaw Drive to 55th Street in Wyandotte County, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, weather permitting.

For the duration of the project, eastbound and westbound K-32 traffic will be reduced to a single lane. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday, as needed.

The project includes concrete pavement patching, pavement smoothness grinding, pavement joint sealing and pavement marking on all lanes and shoulders.

Traffic will be controlled using barricades, portable message signs, arrow boards and traffic cones. Message boards alerting motorists are in place, notifying the start of the project.

Miles Excavating, of Basehor, is the contractor for the $932,000 project, which is scheduled to be completed in mid-December.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.gov or call 5-1-1. Drive safely and always wear your seat belt.
