U.S. 24 bridge survey to begin this week in Topeka

Post Date:12/13/2021

Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will conduct a field survey on the eastbound and westbound U.S. 24 bridges that go over N.W. Goodyear Road in Topeka. The two bridges are approximately 1.5 miles east of the U.S. 24./U.S. 75 interchange.

The survey is to gather information that is necessary for the detailed design of the proposed improvement and is estimated to be completed by March 4, 2022.

Joseph Bowen, P.S., Field Survey Project Manager, Bureau of Right of Way, will oversee this survey for KDOT.

A member of the survey crew first will contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property. Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor. The map below shows the project location.
