Work will start soon on a nearly $6 million passing lane project on U.S. 54 between Greensburg and Haviland.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves passing lane extensions between the two Kiowa County towns. The project involves grading and surfacing and is about 2 miles long.
The work is expected to begin around Jan. 2 and be completed around late April 2024. D
uring the work, traffic will be controlled by lane shifts. Motorists should be prepared for minimal delays.
Venture Corp., of Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the $5,979,645 project.
