A bridge repair project on the Pottawatomie/Wabaunsee county line is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 28, conditions permitting. The Schoeman Road/Paxico Road bridge spans the Kansas River and is located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Belvue.
Schoeman Road/Paxico Road will be closed at the worksite for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete by October 2025. No marked detour will be provided. Drivers will need to use alternate routes.
A.M. Cohron & Sons, Inc., of Atlantic, Iowa, is the $11.2 million project’s prime contractor. The Kansas Department of Transportation will oversee the project.
