KDOT hosted an open house-style public meeting to share information about the South Moonlight Road over I-35 bridge replacement, currently in the preliminary design phase.

The open house was held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Groundhouse Coffee (103 S. Elm Street) in Gardner. The public was invited to stop by any time between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. to view proposed project plans and speak with KDOT staff. There was not a formal presentation. The public was invited to submit comments between Dec. 5 through Dec. 14.

About the Project

The South Moonlight Road over I-35 bridge replacement project includes the realignment of 183rd Street at I-35. Construction is expected to begin in 2026. Only minimal traffic impacts are expected for the duration of the project.
