KDOT hosted an open house-style public hearing about improvements to East Kellogg in Wichita and Andover. KDOT is looking at improvements to East Kellogg in two phases:
- From I-35/K-96 in east Wichita through 159th Street in Andover
- From east of 159th Street to east of Prairie Creek Road in Andover
Attendees had an opportunity to review and comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) document, view information on the environmental findings from the study, view updated designs for Phase 1 and Phase 2 proposed improvements, talk with the project team and provide feedback. KDOT Staff and the project team were present to answer questions. No formal presentation was given at the meeting, and attendees were welcome to come and go at any time during the event between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Phase 1 of the East Kellogg corridor project is fully funded for construction. Phase 2 is being included in the EA so that FHWA approval can be obtained, and the project can move forward for development when funding is available.
